Employers seeking potential in Broome-Tioga Workforce job fair

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Many looking for the next step in their career arrived at the Broome-Tioga Workforce job fair in downtown Binghamton Tuesday afternoon.

The monthly job fair is an effort to bring job seekers and employers together in one spot.

Businesses like Lowes, Maines, Walmart, and even the U.S. Census Bureau were in attendance, looking for potential new employees.

Organizers say these types of events are a great way for people to take advantage of the resources offered at the Broome-Tioga Workforce.

“They usually are prepared to work so we encourage them to look for jobs whenever they can,” said Director at Workforce New York, Joo Phaik Tschang. “If they are not ready for work, we have resume workshops as well as interview skills workshops. So, we help them find employment.”

If you missed this one, you have another chance to bring your resume to the next job fair. It is held every third Tuesday of each month from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
