BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — This year’s Porchfest was the biggest yet, featuring around 160 bands on over 50 different porches.
“Events like this make our community what it is, and I’d like to see more of it happening in the future,” said Cole Harrington, a spectator at the event.
Bands played music from classic rock, to bluegrass, and even swing. Performers say it was a chance to connect with the community.
“I think it’s fantastic for the community to get out together, do a brotherhood thing, sisterhood. It’s peace, music and happy times,” said Rory Maginley, a member of the band, The Lone Ryderz.
Lawns at the event were completely covered with spectators, all looking to hear a tune.
“The live music is great. I love meeting new people, everyone’s just so happy, it’s a beautiful day, just a great atmosphere to be in,” said Harrington.
