THE LATEST: Jury finds Pica-Torres guilty

(WBNG) — The jury has announced a guilty verdict for Wilfredo Pica-Torres Friday afternoon.

Pica-Torres was found guilty on all charges including murder, arson, and attempted murder.


(WBNG) — On Friday, the trial continues for Binghamton man, Wilfredo Pica-Torres.

Pica-Torres is the man indicted on charges of murder, arson and attempted murder in connection to the February attack and fire that left 61-year-old Victor Banayan dead and a 27-year-old woman badly beaten.

Friday morning a forensic supervisor with New York State Police took the stand reviewing fire debris from the scene. At 10:45 a.m., the prosecution rested their case. At 11:0 a.m., the defense rested their case. Closing arguments are to follow beginning with the defense.

It was announced Pica-Torres will not take the stand or testify.
