(WBNG) — September is Healthy Aging Month and the Broome County Office for Aging is sharing tips to keep you healthy as the years pile on.
The Broome County Office for Aging says maintaining your health is important as you get older.
“As we age of course our health decreases, everybody’s does,” says the Director of the Office for Aging Lisa Schuhle.
To stay on top of your well-being, Schuhle recommends staying active.
She suggests making an exercise plan during the winter months when staying active can become more difficult.
Schule also recommends staying on top of your immunizations, including for both the flu and shingles. She says as you age, your risk for getting shingles increases.
“If you have your health, it’s worth a trillion dollars,” says Schuhle.
