(WBNG) — The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York announced in a press release Thursday that a Cortland County woman has pleaded guilty to sexually exploiting a child.
The attorney’s office says 25-year-old Brittany Berry plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to sexually exploit a child and five counts of sexual exploitation of a child.
According to the attorney’s office, Berry admitted she conspired with Lawrence Berry to sexually exploit a 3-year-old minor child in August and September of 2018. Charges against Lawrence Berry are still pending, the office says.
The office further noted that Berry engaged in sexual exploitation of the child on five separate occasions and admitted to sending images of sexual abuse of the child to Lawrence Berry.
Sentencing for Berry is scheduled for Feb. 6, 2020. She faces a minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years in prison on each of the six counts of conviction.
In addition to this, the attorney’s office says Berry will be required to spend five years and “up to a lifetime” term on post-imprisonment supervised release.
The FBI and the City of Cortland Police Department investigated this case.
