Rain holds on through the evening and will be steady to heavy at times. An isolated rumble of thunder is possible. Rain tapers west to east through late tonight and moves out of the Catskills between 2 and 5am. Rainfall totals range from 0.50” to 1.0” with a couple isolated spots potentially seeing up to 1.25”. Overnight lows will be in the 40s. We do not anticipate any significant flooding issues from the heavy rainfall. Some minor poor drainage flooding is possible near leaf-blocked storm drains.
Wednesday we expect partly cloudy to sunny skies. Highs will be in the mid 50s. More sun is also on tap Thursday with highs around 60.
The next chance of rain comes Friday with a 20% chance of precipitation. There is some uncertainty in Friday’s forecast. A front could be draped across the area and depending on where it is located, could increase our rain chances or increase our temperatures. We’re keeping a slight chance in the forecast for now with highs in the low 50s. Saturday looks dry with partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies. Highs Saturday should be around 54 again.
