BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Little Venice is open Sunday following a fire that occurred in an apartment above the restaurant Saturday afternoon.
The restaurant says health inspectors approved Little Venice to reopen after a fire on the third floor of the building left one person with serious injuries. The Binghamton Fire Department says Little Venice sustained minor water damage from Saturday’s fire.
Little Venice owner Piero Lisio said everyone worked together to get the restaurant back open.
“A lot of my staff showed up last night, servpro came yesterday and helped us out.” Lisio said.
“The water damage was fairly minor so we were able to clean up fairly quickly, came in this morning and checked everything, got everything that was missing cleaned up and we were able to re-open,” he said.
The restaurant said they would also like to the thank the Binghamton police and fire departments for doing an “amazing job.”
Little Venice opens at 11:30 a.m.
