ENDWELL (WBNG) — The Southern Tier’s finest food and drinks were showcased at the 23rd Annual Taste of the Tier event Friday night.
Dozens came hungry to the Riverdale Banquet Hall to enjoy specialty samples from 27 local restaurants, wineries and breweries.
It’s hosted by and benefiting the Central New York Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Their mission is to raise money to help research the rare life threatening genetic disease, which events like Friday’s help them do.
“We don’t get government funding, we’re still very much a grassroots organization across the country,” says Amy Spranger, Executive Director of CNY Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. “So events like these are how we make really transformative research happen.”
The event was also to recognize their honorees for the Southern Tier’s Finest awards. These are 4 local professionals who’ve excelled in their careers who’ve also managed to raise money for the cause.
Through entry ticket sales, a silent auction, along with sponsorships and the award honoree donations — the event is expected to raise around $45,000.
