BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — One Binghamton church is taking it upon themselves to give to those in need.
The Wednesday Sewing Club at United Presbyterian Church is putting together quilts, hats and scarves and is donating them to local-non profits.
The sewing club says the non-profits will distribute the quilts to those in need during the cold winter months.
The club says giving back is the right thing to do and it’s fun!
“It’s a happy thing,” said Wednesday Sewing Group Club Member Ann Cobb. “We come, we sew and we stop and eat. We all bring a sandwich, we eat lunch. So it’s a community thing.”
Anyone is welcome to come and sew with the club at the church on Wednesdays. No sewing experience is needed.
