SYRACUSE (WBNG) — On Sunday afternoon, Chenango Forks won its sixth state championship, topping Schuylerville 38-14.
After trading touchdowns to open the second quarter, Quarterback Ray Austin connected with Ethan Brown on a 44 yard touchdown pass to give Forks the lead. The Blue Devils never looked back, heading into the half up 18-6 after a Lucas Scott five-yard run.
Scott added two more touchdowns in the second half as Chenango Forks capped off its undefeated season. Dubbs Haqq had two touchdowns in the win. This marked Chenango Forks’ 12th state title appearance for a New York State record.

“It just never gets old I’ll tell you, the young guys wanted it so much and for the seniors too, I’m so happy for the seniors they worked so hard. As a team they get along so well the team works so hard, they do everything we ask and I am so proud of them,” said coach Dave Hogan.
“It’s awesome as a team knowing you worked your butts off all year from the start of June and it finally pays off and we really took it to them today,” said Lucas Scott.
