Mayor’s Office urging people to utilize off-street parking in Binghamton

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) — Binghamton Mayor Rich David’s Office is urging residents to utilize off-street parking during Sunday-Monday’s snowstorm.

The City’s alternate side parking rules begin Sunday.

Officials say the extra measure of not parking on the street will help snow plows and emergency crews.

The City also pointed out that college students are returning to town from Thanksgiving break and that adds to the challenge of more vehicles on neighborhood streets. Binghamton University has canceled class for Monday.

The Mayor’s Office says the Binghamton Police Department will be aggressively enforcing alternate side parking rules. They also say cars parked illegally and blocking plow routes will be towed.
