VESTAL (WBNG) -- Binghamton University held its second Annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest Friday.

Students, faculty and staff showed off the ugliest sweaters they could find.

People who participated were asked to bring a food item to donate to students in need.

"With college students, if students are hungry they have a hard time studying, they have a hard time focusing," said Ryan Yarosh, Director of Media and Public Relations.

"Getting ready for tests, especially right now when we've got finals next week. So, its a real issue and right now its something that we want to shine a light on here at Binghamton."

The donations are given to the Bare Necessities Food Pantry. They help students who are struggling to put food on their tables.
