VESTAL (WBNG) -- Toys for Tots Convoy for Hope rolled into Binghamton University Saturday afternoon, greeted by dozens of children and their families.
Despite being delayed in Bainbridge the convoy arrived at around 3:30 p.m. as members of the Marine Corps and other volunteers handed out bags of toys to children. The toys are normally delivered by train but the train was unable to operate this year forcing organizers to find another solution which was to deliver the toys by truck instead.
"No train being derailed is going to stop us we're out here and we're banding together and we're really making this happen for the kids," said Eric Stensland, Integrated Marketing Manager for Dunkin Donuts.
The toys and coats were purchased thanks to a $30,000 donation from Dunkin.
