ENDICOTT (WBNG) -- Little Italy Endicott Heritage Center is getting a helping hand from Broome County, as they continue their mission to revitalize the 100 block of Oak Avenue.
Thanks to Broome County's Small Community Fund, Little Italy Endicott is receiving a grant for $10,000.
The grant will be used to help Little Italy Endicott construct a catering kitchen at the heritage center, enabling them to host fundraisers.
They say the kitchen and dining room will also give the community a new rental venue option.
"2020 marks the ten year anniversary that this building has been open and they've been working on a kitchen, past board members have been working on a kitchen ever since. To see this finally come to life is one of those ten years in the making stories and it's finally coming true," said Little Italy Board President Michael Romeo.
Little Italy Endicott also plans on partnering with local restaurants and chefs to host community cooking classes in the new kitchen.
