BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- There was no shortage of holiday cheer at United Way of Broome County's Winter Wonderland event at the Lee Barta Community Center Saturday.
The event was made possible by a donation to the center from Hopler & Eschbach Funeral Home.
"It was such a team effort we were approached by the local funeral home with a very generous donation to be able to offer family photos," said Kim Schwartz, Health Initiatives Manager for United Way of Broome County and manager of the Lee Barta Community Center.
CHOW and Binghamton Food rescue also stepped up to support the event.
"We have Chow and Binghamton food rescue who donated fresh produce and we have healthy snacks," Schwartz said.
Schwartz says any day she can help bring the community together is a good day.
"Any time we can get folks together and offer a positive event on the North side of Binghamton we're so thrilled," Schwartz said.
Leanne Houghtaylen of Binghamton says events like this are important with the expenses that come with the holiday season.
"Not everybody can afford to spend a lot of money to do things especially this time of year so it's always good when the community does things that don't cost a lot of money," Houghtaylen said.
Schwartz also telling 12 news that the event is an example of the importance of positive partnerships between community organizations.
