Forecast Discussion

New Year's Day looks unsettled as well with a 30% chance of snow showers. There will be a lot of snow-free time. It does look like we could see some wind gusts 25-35mph and given the ice-covered trees and wires in the Catskill region, this could cause some power outages. Highs Wednesday will be in the low to mid 30s.

Thursday looks pleasant with sun and clouds and highs around 43. Rain returns Friday with a 70% chance of precipitation. Highs climb into the low and mid 40s. More rain showers linger Saturday and it stays mild with highs in the low to mid 40s. The chance of rain is 60%. there is a chance some snow could mix in on the backside of the departing rain later Saturday. This will need to be monitored.

Colder weather builds in Sunday and Monday with highs in the low to mid 30s. Some snow showers are possible Sunday and Monday, but Tuesday looks quiet. Overnight lows Saturday through Monday night will be in the 20s.
