Binghamton (WBNG) -- The New York Mets have announced Lorenzo Bundy as the Rumble Ponies manager for the 2020 season.

Bundy, 60, replaces Kevin Boles, who was promoted to minor league field coordinator after managing the Rumble Ponies for one season.

Catching up with Bundy today, he said it's been difficult to track down a job with affiliated baseball over the last few years, and said when this opportunity arose with the Mets, it was a no-brainer.

Bundy has thirty years of managing experience, spending time in both MLB and MiLB, and the Mexican League. Prior to his managing career, Bundy spent eight seasons playing in the Minor Leagues and the Mexican League.

Bundy has most recently managed in the Mexican League. He won three championships and was named Manager of the Year twice during his time in the Mexican League.

Bundy has held Major League Baseball coaching positions with a number of teams. Bundy was the outfield and base running coach for the Marlins in 2015 and 2016. He has also spent time with the Arizona Diamondbacks as a first base coach in 2009, and the Colorado Rockies as a bullpen coach in 1999.

Bundy was named Pacific Coast League manager of the year in 2012 during his time with the Albuquerque Isotopes, the AAA team of the Colorado Rockies.

Catching up with Bundy today, he said it's been difficult to track down a job with affiliated baseball over the last few years, and said when this opportunity arose with the Mets, it was a no-brainer.

"Obviously I ask that my players play really hard. I really have a hard time dealing with players that don't give 100 percent to their organization, to their teammates, and respect the game of baseball. If that's old school, I guess you can call me that," said Bundy.

The rest of the coaching staff was also announced.

Pitching coach - Jonathan Hurst

Hitting Coach - Tony Jaramillo

Bench Coach - Luis Rivera

Athletic Trainer - Kiyoshi Tada

The Rumble Ponies open their season at home on April 9 against the Akron RubberDucks.
