TOWN OF DICKINSON (WBNG) -- Binghamton University Ballroom Dancers are extending dancing lessons to everyone in the community.

Dozens of eager learners of all ages came out to the Broome County Farmers Market Friday night.

They were instructed by Alex Wang and Emily Davio of the Binghamton University Ballroom Dance Team.

The two students taught the crowd basic footwork first, and soon everyone was able to waltz and cha-cha.

"We think it's really good for like couples," says Alex. "It's a shared activity they can do together, so there's like a lot of opportunity for them to have fun and bond over this really fun activity."

"And on top of that it's just a nice way to meet other people and get moving at the same time," says Emily.

This is the second time the ballroom dance team held a "Learn to Ballroom" event just for the community.

However the B.U. Ballroom Dancing Club is free and open to the public. That takes place every week, alternating between Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

They'll also be back at the farmer's market on Valentine's Day for a special Valentines Day dance.
