NEW YORK (AP) - New York City firefighters say one person was removed from the top floor of a Chinatown building amid a raging blaze in which two firefighters also suffered minor injuries.
Fire department officials say they were called at about 8:45 p.m. Thursday for a fire that began on the fourth floor of a five-story building and extended through the roof.
Videos and photos posted to social media show flames bursting out of windows and flowing heavily from the roof of the building.
The fire comes ahead of the Lunar New Year, which starts Saturday.
Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted that the building was home to several nonprofits and a senior center.
