MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. (AP) - Police in upstate New York say a woman accused of fatally stabbing a friend of her ex-boyfriend has been charged with second-degree murder.
Middletown police say 19-year-old Chelsea Johnson was arraigned Wednesday on charges in the killing of 17-year-old Roy Boyd.
Authorities say a fight between Johnson and Brandon Royer escalated in the street in front of Johnson's home Tuesday evening.
Police said Johnson stabbed Boyd, who had gone with Royer to confront Johnson.
Officers found Boyd injured on the sidewalk. Boyd was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Johnson is being held without bail. A message was left Thursday morning with Johnson's lawyer seeking comment.
