Police: 5 arrested, drugs recovered at Binghamton traffic stop

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force says a traffic stop led to the arrest of five people on Monday.

The traffic stop took place at 8 Hawley St. in Binghamton.

The following is the list of arrestees and their charges:

37-year-old John Judy:

  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree (sub 7), a class B felony
  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree (sub 1), a class D felony
  • Criminal possession of a weapon in the 2nd degree, a class C felony
  • Criminal possession of stolen property in the 4th degree (stolen firearm), a class E felony
  • Criminally using drug paraphernalia in the 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor

51-year-old Stacy Evans:

  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree (sub 1), a class D felony

20-year-old Sabbath Evans:

  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree (sub 1), a class D felony
  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor

24-year-old Hannah Werner:

  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance 5th degree (sub 1), a class D felony
  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor

37-year-old Carrie Lowe:

  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 5th degree (sub 1), a class D felony

The task force says officers recovered a loaded handgun, methamphetamine, prescription medication, marijuana, drug packaging materials and $2,100 in suspected drug sale proceeds at the traffic stop.

Officers were assisted by the Southern Tier Crime Analysis Center.
