B-Devils complete sweep of Marlies in Toronto

On Thursday, the NHL announced it is suspending play due to the Corona Virus.

TORONTO (WBNG) -- On Wednesday, the Binghamton Devils beat the Toronto Marlies, completing a two-game sweep on the road. With the win, the B-Devils are just one point back of a playoff spot.

The Marlies took a 1-0 lead about eight minutes into the first period, on a Matt Read gpal. Shortly after, Marian Studenic scored his sixth goal of the year to tie the game.

The B-Devils kept the momentum rolling in the first. Egor Sharangovich scored on a feed from Kyle Cumiskey with 3:34 to play. On a power play with 31 seconds in the first period, Chris Connor tapped in a shot from Dakota Mermis to make it 3-1.

Nate Bastian netted his tenth goal of the season in the second period, giving the B-Devils a three goal lead. Gilles Senn had 32 saves.

This marked the team's fourth consecutive win.

The Binghamton Devils have home games this Friday and Saturday, both against the Charlotte Checkers.
