Bearcats hold off UMass Lowell behind Sessoms’ 39 points

VESTAL (WBNG) -- The Binghamton men's basketball team topped UMass Lowell Thursday night in a game that came down to the wire.

The River Hawks came back from being down 11 points, tying the game at 80 with 42 seconds to play. A clutch jumper from Sam Sessoms and the Bearcats hitting 4-of-6 free throws secured them the win.

Sessoms finished with 39 points, the most scored in a regulation game in Binghamton's D1 history. Freshman George Tinsley added 15 points. The Bearcats shot 65 percent in the second half, and hit 11-of-19 three-pointers.

Binghamton - 86 (9-17, 3-10,), UMass Lowell - 84 ( 11-17, 5-8)

The Binghamton men host Hartford Saturday at 4 p.m.
