B-Devils win fifth straight behind Senn’s 47 saves

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) - On Friday night, the Binghamton Devils topped the Charlotte Checkers 2-1 for their fifth straight win. Gilles Senn stopped 47 of 48 pucks in the win.

The B-Devils struck first in the first period. From center ice, Matt Tennyson shot the puck down and off a misplay from Checkers goalie Alex Nedelijkovic, Mikhail Maltsev was there to put the puck in an open net.

The score remained 1-0 until the third period. With the Checkers on a power play, Oliwer Kaski tied the game at one. The B-Devils answered shortly after with just 3:46 to play in the game, with Ryan Schmelzer scoring the shorthanded, game-winning goal.

Binghamon Devils - 2 (27-23-4-0), Charlotte Checkers - 1 (52-29-19-4)

The Binghamton Devils are now in fourth place in the North Division. They take on the Charlotte Checkers once again, Saturday night at home. Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m..
