(WBNG) -- There will be a public meeting on a project to replace the Chenango River Bridge Tuesday night.
The virtual meeting will be held at 5 p.m. The public can join by clicking here.
The New York Department of Transportation says the project will be about half a mile down from the original bridge.
The existing bridge will be taken down once the new bidge is open.
Officials say the construction will not negatively impact anyone trying to pass through.
The DOT says the current bridge is old and outdated and the project has been planned for awhile.
Construction is expected to begin in spring 2022 and will be completed by fall 2023.
