QUEENS (WBNG) -- Former Rumble Pony and Mets prospect Andres Gimenez has made the Mets opening day roster.
The shortstop spent the entire 2019 season in Binghamton where he hit .250 with 28 stolen bases.
Gimenez had a breakout Arizona Fall League season, winning the batting title hitting .371.
Gimenez was joined by a number of 2019 Rumble Ponies in Mets summer camp, but he was the only player to make the Mets opening day roster.
The Mets open their season Friday night against the Atlanta Braves at 4:10 p.m.
