CHENANGO BRIDGE (WBNG) -- The Super Cooper Memorial Playground is now officially open.
Friday marked the ceremonial ribbon-cutting the Chenango Bridge Civic Park to open up the community attraction to families all over the Southern Tier.
The playground honors Cooper Busch, a young boy with down syndrome who died from luekemia in 2018,
Cooper's mother, Tara, said she and volunteers have been working to put this project together for the last two years, and thanked everyone for their contributions and support.
But now, she's happy people can enjoy it.
"We've seen a number of kids come here just in the last couple of days since it's been inspected," Busch said. "The kids just love it. It's great area, it almost looks like it could have been here forever. It suits the park really well."
