WHITNEY POINT (WBNG) -- The Broome County Department of Parks, Recreation and Youth Services has closed Dorchester Park due to an algae bloom.

This is the second time this year the beach at Dorchester Park was forced to close due to algae. The park was closed on July 21 but reopened on Aug. 5 once it was determined safe to be in the water.

Officials say the public will be notified once its safe to swim at the park again.

The beaches at Nathaniel Cole and Greenwood Park remain open.
