ALBANY (WBNG) -- Governor Andrew Cuomo said New York State's COVID-19 infection rate was below one percent for the 29th straight day on Friday.
0.80 percent of Friday's tests cross the state came back positive, and two deaths were recorded.
The Governor urged New Yorkers to stay safe and smart during the holiday weekend.
"We cannot go backwards," the Governor said in a news release. "As we celebrate this Labor Day Weekend, we must all continue to wear our masks, socially distance, wash our hands, and stay New York tough."
