Binghamton mayor to hold news conference on Johnson City attempted-murder arrest

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- Binghamton officials have confirmed the news conference is directly related to the arrest made in Johnson City on Sept. 11.

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- Binghamton Mayor Rich David will hold a news conference Wednesday regarding an attempted murder arrest.

Mayor David's office says the arrest is a part of a Sept. 11 investigation in Johnson City.

On that day, at the intersection of Hudson Street and Park Place, the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force made an arrest with the help of a K9 unit.

The task force is made up of officers from the Binghamton, Johnson City, and Endicott police departments as well as the Broome County Sheriff's Office.

Police say no one was hurt, but one shot was fired. A weapon was recovered from the scene.

The mayor's news conference will be held at 2 p.m. and it will be streamed on the 12 News Facebook page.
