Forecast Discussion:

Quiet and dry weather continues tonight and for most of the area Thursday. There is a small (30%) chance of a few afternoon or evening showers in the Finger Lakes and near/west of I81. An isolated thunderstorm is possible. Areas of east of I81 are expected to stay dry. Highs climb into the mid 70s.

The season may have changed to Fall yesterday, but this weekend? Nothing like it. Sun and clouds return Friday through Sunday. No rain is currently expected through this period. Highs, however, will be well above average for this late in September. Expect highs to be in the mid to upper 70s and even near 80 Sunday.

The next significant chance of rain comes Monday and Tuesday. There is a 70% chance Monday and a 60% chance Tuesday. Highs Monday and Tuesday will be in the mid to upper 60s. By next Wednesday a few showers could linger with highs around 60. Late next week, for the start of October, looks to cool back down significantly into the 50s.
