(WBNG) -- Chenango Forks senior Lucas Scott announced his commitment to play college football at the United States Military Academy West Point.
Scott shared the news on Twitter Wednesday night.
The Forks fullback said the decision was simple once he was finally able to see the campus in person.
"They play great football, they're ranked 22nd in the country. I think it sets you up so great, at West Point," said Scott. "Obviously life after football, they always say it's forty years, not four for your decision. I think that's the best school to do that for."
Scott was originally recruited after his junior season. With no official visits allowed due to the pandemic, Scott said the coaches at West Point did a great job staying in touch with him through technology as he went through the recruiting process.
Scott said he's relieved after making his decision and he's ready to focus on his senior football season when it comes around in March.
"Definitely feels good to get that off your back, with all the coaches calling all the time," said Scott. "It's been a long recruiting process especially not being able to visit and everything. It's been a lot of phone calls and stuff so I'm glad I finally got my decision made and I can focus on that."
Scott has not decided what he will study at West Point.
