Changes are on the way – but more importantly, so is some rain. Some showers could develop tonight with lows in the upper 50s to mid 60s. The chance of rain is 40% tonight.
A strong cold front moves through west to east Tuesday. The chance of rain is 80%. We expect an early day high in the mid to upper 60s and as the front crosses, temperatures should drop quickly into the 50s. We don't think it will rain all day long everywhere, but some of the steadiest rain is expected in the Finger Lakes.
Heavy rain is possible Tuesday night as a secondary low pressure slides northward along the departing cold front. 0.75-1.5” of rain is possible inside the heaviest rain. A thunderstorm is also possible. Showers and rain could linger early Wednesday morning before tapering through the day. TOTAL rainfall by Wednesday evening should range from 1-2” with some locally higher and lower totals. Due to very dry conditions, we do NOT anticipate any widespread flooding issues. Highs Wednesday will be in the low to mid 60s.
Thursday brings a mainly dry day with highs in the low 60s and lows in the 40s. The chance of a shower is less than 10%.
Friday some more scattered showers are expected. The chance of rain is 40%. Highs drop into the 50s with lows into Saturday morning in the 30s to low 40s.
Saturday could also see a few scattered rain showers. Highs will be in the mid 50s with lows in the 30s by Sunday morning. Partly sunny conditions are on tap for next Sunday. Highs remain in the mid 50s. Some more rain is possible Monday with highs in the 50s.
