UPDATE: Aircraft located after plane crash scare in Delaware County


9:45 P.M. UPDATE -- According to the Delaware County Emergency Services, the plane has been located in a safe location.

An official with the Delaware County Emergency Services says an emergency transponder was triggered on the aircraft over Delaware County, setting of a transmitter that was picked up on radar in New York City.

Officials in New York City then called Albany, who then notified emergency services in Delaware County about a plane possibly crashing in the area.


HANCOCK (WBNG) -- According to the Hancock Fire Department, multiple crews are searching for a possible plane crash near the Cannonsville Reservoir in Delaware County.

After initially telling 12 News the plane went down, the fire department is now saying the crash is not confirmed.

We are working to learn more and have a news crew on the way to the scene.
