(WBNG) -- Julia Fiato and Kristen Walter of Theodore Roosevelt Elementary wanted to do something fun and engaging for their students, so they created a virtual field trip.
The duo said they wanted to bring some normalcy back to the school year and decided to do a whole interactive trip on the surrounding Broome County parks and scarecrow contest.
The women say they put their all into it. Walter even dressed up as a scarecrow!
They say they miss the normal day to day interactions and wanted to make sure they could still connect with the students despite this year's challenges.
Both women also say they hope this is the first of many, adding that they are committed to making a fun and interactive learning environment for the students.
And while they say the school year has been difficult this year, they are grateful for the family they found at Theodore Roosevelt.
