(WBNG) -- Centenary-Chenango Street United Methodist Church is this week's winner of Southern Tier Tuesdays two thousand dollar grant from Upstate Shredding.
The Pastor at Centenary-Chenango Street United Methodist Church, Rev. Ron Wenzinger says the church has been offering free meals to the community once a month for a numbers of years, but once the coronavirus pandemic hit, they began offering free take out meals every week. Before the pandemic, the church served 30 to 40 people a month and now they serve over 100 people most weeks.
Rev. Ron Wenzinger says the Southern Tier Tuesdays grant will go toward food and supplies for the kitchen. The free meals are available at the church every Thursday starting at 5:30 p.m. at the parking lot entrance. For more information or to volunteer with the church, you can visit their website here.
