IZMIR, Turkey (AP) --Rescue workers have pulled three young children and their mother alive from the rubble of a collapsed building in western Turkey almost a day after a powerful earthquake in the Aegean Sea.
The death toll from Friday's earthquake rose to at least 39 on Saturday, and the dead included one of the children rescued in the Turkish city of Izmir. Another sibling was still trapped.
The quake that struck Turkey's Aegean coast and north of the Greek island of Samos triggered a small tsunami in Izmir province and on the Greek island.
At least 37 people were killed in Izmir. Two teenagers were killed on Samos after being struck by a collapsing wall.
