(WBNG) -- Tioga County Rural Ministry is the winner of a two thousand dollar grant from Upstate Shredding for Southern Tier Tuesdays.
The mission of the Tioga County Rural Ministry is to serve the unmet needs of the poor, sick, and elderly in Tioga County. Alycia Anthony, a Human Services Aide with the ministry says they reach the community through a food pantry in Owego which serves residents five days a week. Another way they help the Tioga County community is through the financial assistance program.
Anthony says the Southern Tier Tuesday grant will go toward expanding their financial assistance program, which is now helping those impacted by COVID-19.
