(WBNG) -- Bradford-Tioga Head Start is the winner of a two thousand dollar grant from Upstate Shredding for Southern Tier Tuesdays.
The mission of Bradford-Tioga Head Start is to empower families and children to grow and thrive.
Jody Thomas, the Executive Director of Bradford-Tioga Head Start, says they provide Head Start and Pre-School programming to families in Tioga and Bradford Counties. Thomas says they also serve pregnant mothers and families through the Early Head Start Program.
During the coronavirus pandemic Thomas says their programs went completely virtual and they helped families adjust to remote learning by providing Chromebooks and helping with internet access.
Thomas says the Southern Tier Tuesday grant will be used to help children and families with education, but also with meeting basic needs such as food.
