Confluence Running hosts “Hindsight is 2020” 5K

JOHNSON CITY (WBNG) -- While it may be the second week of January, Confluence Running held a 5K today to leave 2020 in the past.

In partnership with the Oakdale Mall and Factory by Beer Tree, Confluence Running put on a 5K today for those who wished to participate, adding that there haven't been many running events recently, due to logistical challenges.

The run had three heats, which began at 8 a.m, 9 a.m., and 10 a.m., respectively, to include more participants.

"Everybody I think has heard the phrase "Hindsight is 2020," so we kind of used that as a way to like put 2020 behind us -- to make it hindsight," said Chris Cowden, Manager of Confluence Running, adding, "It's a little play on that, and we figured we only had a bit of time to get this done because we didn't want to go too far into 2021."

Confluence Running said in total the event had around 100 people.

They add that there were positive reactions from the runners, saying people were appreciative of the event.

Confluence Running say they hope this 5K will be one of many.
