Man killed in Binghamton car crash

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- Authorities say a 56-year-old man was killed in a car crash on Conklin Avenue on the afternoon of Jan. 8.

The Binghamton Police Department says Lester O'Dell of Conklin was killed in a collision involving two vehicles. He was driving a van that struck a pickup, they say.

Emergency crews had a section of Conklin Avenue closed around 3:30 p.m. as crews worked at the scene.

As of 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Binghamton Police Captain Cory Minor told 12 News officers are still investigating what led up to the crash, and more information could not be provided.

The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital for injuries. There name has not been released by authorities.
