B-Devils open season with 4-3 overtime win

WILKES-BARRE (WBNG) -- The Binghamton Devils opened the season with an overtime, comeback win over the Penguins Monday night.

Defenseman Reilly Walsh scored the game-winning goal with just over three minutes left to play in OT.

The B-Devils were down 3-1 entering the third period. Danick Martel scored a goal with 15:40 remaining to bring the B-Devils within one.

About five minutes later, Ryan Schmelzer scored to tie the game at 3, ultimately forcing overtime.

Down 1-0, Nolan Foote scored the B-Devils first goal in the second period, tipping in a shot from Colton White.

The Penguins scored two more in the second period.

B-Devils goalie Evan Cormier recorded 20 saves.

The B-Devils host the Lehigh Valley Phantoms Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
