Report: Expectant father killed by gender-reveal device in Sullivan County

LIBERTY, N.Y. (WBNG/CBS) -- CBS reports a man was killed after his device for a gender-reveal party exploded in the town of Liberty, N.Y. on Sunday.

28-year-old Christopher Pekny was killed while working on a gender-reveal device for his future child.

Pekny's brother, 27-year-old, Michael Pekny, was injured by the blast. He was treated for his injuries in a hospital.

Pekny's family says they are heartbroken by his passing.

CBS New York reports that Pekny's family owned a local business.
