ENDICOTT (WBNG) -- Union-Endicott High School held a vaccine clinic Friday for staff and teachers.
It's part of an effort to get students and staff safely back to school.
Assistant Superintendent Jennifer Kazmark said the clinic is a step in the right direction with keeping people safe. "Anything we can do to mitigate any risk or reduce quarantine is really important," she said.
The vaccine clinic was held in the same gym where students and staff were tested for the virus.
COVID-19 Response Coordinator Shannon Gillette said the mood during testing versus the mood during vaccinating is a stark contrast.
"It's amazing. When we think about how depressing and stressful it's been for everyone in the community, to get to a place where the days are lengthening, the sunshine is coming out and we have a genuine reason to celebrate," she said.
The district anticipated around 130 staff to receive their vaccinations.
