State Police seek public’s help with attempted robbery investigation

CHERRY VALLEY, N.Y. (WBNG) -- Authorities are asking for the public's help identifying a suspect involved in an attempted bank robbery.

New York State Police say the attempted robbery occurred at an NBT Bank on Main Street in Cherry Valley, N.Y.

Police say the suspect did not threaten or display a weapon.

Authorities describe the suspect as a white male with darker complexion, appears to be around 30 to 40 years old, and around 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall.

They say he was last seen on Lancaster Street in Cherry Valley. Police also say that there was a white sedan in the area that "may or may not have been involved."
