(WBNG) -- Binghamton wrestler Lou DePrez finished his run in the NCAA championships with an eighth-place finish Saturday afternoon in St. Louis.

DePrez lost in a 6-3 decision to Hunter Bolen, the No. 5 seed from Virginia Tech.

Despite falling earlier than he hoped, DePrez earned his second straight All-America honor, becoming the first athlete in Binghamton University history to repeat as an All-American.

"This year I'm thankful for just going out there and giving it my all," said DePrez. "I know I came up short of my goals but I'll continue to go out there and get better."

DePrez said the All-America status should help put the Binghamton wrestling program on the map.

"I think it's huge recruiting wise," he said. "Probably draw more attention, bring in better guys. I know Binghamton, not a lot of people might know Binghamton, New York. Hopefully, this will grow a little more attention."

DePrez has two years of eligibility remaining.
