State Police release information about motorcycle, FedEx truck crash

BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- New York State Police Wednesday released information about the cause of a crash involving a motorcycle and a FedEx truck.

According to a news release, State Police say the driver of the motorcycle was traveling southeast at an unsafe speed on Murphy Road in the town of Binghamton around 12:40 p.m. on March 30. The driver of the FedEx truck turned left in front of the motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 20-year-old resident of Binghamton, was taken to Wilson Hospital, police say. The driver of the FedEx truck, a 23-year-old resident of Susquehanna, Pa., was not injured.

The Broome County Sheriff's Office and Broome Ambulance assisted on the scene along with the State Police Commercial Vehicle Unit and Collision Reconstruction Unit. The Conklin Fire Department also assisted.

The original headline of this story has been changed. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
