(WBNG) -- April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month and the William Mattar Law Offices have a safety awareness program involving local schools.
Megan Lederhouse, the Outreach Coordinator with William Mattar Law Offices, said the firm focuses on people injured in motor vehicle crashes and raises awareness about driving distractions, hazards, and other safety concerns.
Lederhouse said William Mattar Law Offices believes distracted driving is a problem for all drivers, but it especially affects teens and young adults.
Throughout April, William Mattar is focusing on teaching good driving habits to adults, teens, and young adults.
Lederhouse said William Mattar is tentatively offering their Drive Distracted, Lives Impacted program to local high schools in a virtual format, covering the same topics as the traditional program.
The virtual format of the Drive Distracted, Lives Impacted Program will include relatable and timely videos and statistics for students.
Ledershouse said the program discusses fatal, harmful, and legal consequences of distracted driving, in hopes of raising awareness and reaching the students.
The program will accommodate the hybrid classroom schedules and present live video, so students have the change to participate, ask questions, and speak to William Mattar attorneys.
To join this program, Principals and Superintendents can visit the William Matter Law Offices' website here, then under the "Community" tab, choose "Programs and Campaigns", for the "Drive Distracted, Lives Impacted" page. The final step is to fill out an inquiry form.
