(WBNG) -- Health officials in Chenango County say the county has received 200 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine this week.
Because the FDA has only approved 16 and 17-year-olds to receive the Pfizer vaccine, officials say these teens will need to go to state-run sites as of Wednesday.
Health officials tell 12 News their focus for this week will be on groups that often get left behind.
"Chenango County this week is trying to reach hard-to-reach groups, " Chenango County Health Director Isaiah Sutton told 12 News. "We've been working with local partners to reach out to farmers, farmworkers, and other transient workers as well as continuing to work on the home-bound population."
Sutton says there will be another clinic on Thursday and the county is putting together an information campaign to help convince people who are wary to receive a vaccine.
