(WBNG) -- The Broome County Arts Council is celebrating the month of April, otherwise known as National Poetry Month, by presenting a weekly series which gives poets a platform to perform.
The Broome County Arts Council partnered with WordPlace at the Bundy Museum to present weekly poetry readings by poets virtually. Poets range from locals to hailing all the way from other countries, like England.
Connie Barnes, Artisan Gallery Manager at the Broome County Arts Council, says she believes people will enjoy the recordings because of their casual, laid-back style. She explains that the set up resembles everybody gathered in a living room, listening to discourse between poets.
"Whether you are new to poetry or listen for many, many years I think you'll appreciate what we've captured here," Barnes explained.
The sessions began on April 5th and take place weekly on Monday's. To access the or find out more information on how to join, you can visit www.broomearts.org or click here. You can also access past recordings by clicking here.
The readings will also be streamed by the Bundy Museum and air on WBDY-FM or 99.5 FM.
